How to reduce impersonation and scam risks
Slow down when a conversation becomes urgent, financial or inconsistent, and use the report function when a post appears unsafe or misleading.
Be careful when urgency suddenly appears
Pressure such as “send this now”, “pay before we meet” or “share your private details immediately” is a reason to slow down. A genuine conversation does not require you to make an irreversible decision before you have enough information.
Look for consistency, not perfect proof
Compare the public post with later messages: area, timing, profile description and purpose should broadly make sense together. You do not need to demand sensitive documents from the other person; instead, stop when repeated contradictions make the situation unreliable.
Do not send money to “unlock” a meeting
The board's current rules do not allow sexual recruitment conditioned on money, goods or other compensation. Requests for advance transfers, gift cards or deposits should therefore be treated as a serious warning sign and reported when appropriate.
